Benjamin Byrd is republicEn’s Outreach Liaison in the states of North Carolina and South Carolina. He is a political science student at Winthrop University with a strong interest in education, environmental policy, and public engagement.

Benjamin has experience in public affairs, research, and policy analysis through his work with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, the Winthrop Poll, and numerous internships with Senators and Representatives in the state. He has also worked closely with students and community members in leadership roles such as with Winthrop’s Student Government Association and as a Resident Assistant.

He is passionate about connecting policy to people and advancing thoughtful, community-driven civic engagement. He would like to be a lobbyist in South Carolina, working on a legislative solution to the growing problem of climate change.
