Happy New Year!
I hope folks are entering January feeling rested and ready to take on a new year of EcoRight work. As always, our job isn’t easy (2024 was the hottest year on record) but it’s made easier because we are working together.
This week’s must read: Trade policy leads to climate innovation (Forbes)
Our executive director Bob Inglis penned this op-ed supporting trade policy mechanisms like those proposed by Senator Bill Cassidy, which have both positive impacts on U.S. manufacturing and the climate.
“U.S. manufacturers are leading the world in deploying low-emissions technologies, setting the standard for innovation and sustainability in industrial production. Through policy incentives and voluntary commitments, companies are investing in cleaner, more efficient technologies, integrating renewable energy, and implementing carbon capture solutions. These efforts reduce environmental impact, enhance global competitiveness, and demonstrate that innovation and sustainability can drive economic growth while strengthening America’s industrial leadership on the world stage.”

Quizmas in January: Trivia Champions Crowned!
It was so much fun to gather with members of our community for a fun but competitive trivia night. I’m sad to say that my team came in last (we got robbed on one of our answers!) but still, hearty congratulations to the powerhouse team, the Mountain Falcons, led by one of our dearest, Alex Bozmoski, and including Alex Amonette and Angela Larck.
Thanks to all who participated in our holiday event!
Congratulations to one of our own!
We are thrilled to announce that our friend Mary Anna Mancuso—our most prolific EcoRight writer, with over 50 op-eds published in 2024, which is an astounding figure with unmeasurable reach—has taken a position on the opinion team at the Miami Herald, where she will continue to offer her keen views on all things Florida and politics. While our team is super happy for her, it is with a bit of a heavy heart that I share that in this full time capacity, she will no longer be freelance writing on behalf of republicEn.org. We will miss her very and insightful op-eds on climate change, but of course will follow her work for the Herald closely.
Congrats, Mary Anna!
2025: The Year Ahead
We are deeply in planning mode, looking to bring you another year of our unique brand of EcoRight leadership.
What you can expect from us:
⇒Two more seasons of the EcoRight Speaks. (Season 10 coming soon!)
⇒Field trips/events in our target states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Indiana, Iowa, Utah, and Louisiana. We do virtual events, too!
⇒More webinars, EcoRight polls, and other opportunities to engage and to act.
⇒Op-ed content, radio and TV interviews, keynote addresses, and other message amplification.
⇒And of course, weekly emails like this highlighting not only our achievements but those of our friends in the EcoRight community.
If you have an event you want to collaborate on or invite us to, an idea for an op-ed, a podcast guest suggestion, we want to hear from you.

RIP to former President Jimmy Carter, who oversaw the creation of FEMA and was both for renewables and easing the permitting process for energy projects.

We hope those of our members located in southern California are safe. If you’d like to learn more about how climate change contributes to the severity of wildfire, I found this article interesting.
See you next week, readers. And the week after that. And the week after that.
