After his disappointing finish in the Iowa caucus on Monday, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee suspended his campaign for the GOP presidential nomination.
Some climate highlights from his run:
Recently, Huckabee addressed climate change mostly in the context of national security. “America needs a president focused on what we can control, not fixated on weather patterns which we cannot,” he said.
In the fall, the former governor said, “They believe climate change is a greater threat than Islamic extremism, that a sunburn is worse than a beheading.
Over the summer, Huckabee told Yahoo! News anchor Katie Couric, “a volcano in one blast will contribute more than 100 years of human activity.”
On the 2016 campaign trail, Huckabee struck a different tone than he had in the 2008 cycle when he said, “it’s all our responsibility to fix” climate change.
