Tell Your Rep about the IPCC Report

Urge your rep to work across the aisle to pass durable, bipartisan, market-based climate legislation.

You may have heard that the IPCC recently issued an updated report on the state of climate change. This report, which was multiple years in the making and reflects the consensus of 200+ climate scientists, provides a glimpse of the stark reality of climate change with a slim silver lining: there is still time to act.

The topline findings of the report are:

  • Coastal areas will see continued sea level rise throughout the 21st century, contributing to more frequent and severe coastal flooding in low-lying areas and coastal erosion;
  • Climate change is intensifying the water cycle, meaning more intense rainfall and associated flooding, as well as more intense droughts in many regions; and, most importantly:
  • Human actions still have the potential to determine the future course of the climate.

Climate change is a problem caused by humans, which means it can be solved by humans. While we do have time to act, the clock is ticking.

Please share the IPCC report with your representative. Urge them to work across the aisle to pass durable, bipartisan, market-based climate legislation.
