I’m back and I have one question: are we in fake fall? I think we are… I’m trying very hard to moderate my excitement. I’m not putting my summer clothes away. I’m not pulling my sweaters out. But I am sleeping with the windows open, leaving the AC off, and am feeling refreshed! Here’s hoping summer days are behind us!
This week’s must read: Ken Paxton’s attack on investors is climate change denial, not conservativism (FoxNews)
Check out this op-ed co-authored by two former Congressional greats: our own Bob Inglis and one-time Florida Rep. Carlos Curbelo.
“Sadly, today’s [climate] debate is too often dominated by the loudest partisan voices,” they write. “On the far left, some prescribe sweeping mandates and federal micromanagement that threaten innovation and growth. On the far right, others—ironically in the name of conservatism—are turning the tools of government against private companies, punishing them for evaluating the financial impacts of climate risk.”

This week on… the EcoRight Speaks
When “near-term science fiction” author Raj Agrawal reached out to pitch himself as a guest for the show, I was immediately intrigued. A novel that shows a technology that sounds realistic (but isn’t *yet* invented, with the emphasis on yet) to save humanity from climate change? Sign me up!
Raj Agrawal is a retired aerospace engineer who worked for more than forty years at some of the leading US and British aero engine companies. He has many technical publications and over 30 patents in aviation engineering and has been a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and American Helicopter Society. He was also an adjunct professor teaching a graduate level course on aero-engine design. Not For Sale! was his first novel loosely based on his own life experiences. His latest novel – Reversal! is the second book in the trilogy he plans to write.
Hope you enjoy!
Coming up next week, my annual conversation with Heather Reams, the brains and force behind National Clean Energy Week, which is coming up September 15th-19th! I just signed up to attend the Policymakers Symposium (both days)… will you join me?

Another must listen…
If the op-ed Bob and Carlos wrote resonated with you, take a listen to Bob walking through this topic here.
“When a bank or a private company decide to factor in the risk of climate change, it seems that is a thing they should be free to do,” Bob says. “We think that it’s freedom to invest as you wish. We want the market to work that way.”
