This week’s must read: John Curtis wants to be Trump’s climate guy (E&E News by Politico)

Kelsey Brugger reports: Senator John Curis, “who was selected to chair an Environment and Public Works subcommittee last week, thinks he could do with Trump what he did with more than the 80 House Republicans he corralled to his Conservative Climate Caucus, which he launched in 2021 with the goal of educating the GOP on climate policies in a space that embraces conservative, free market principles.”

“The first thing with President Trump is kind of to confirm where you are at — and [say], ‘By the way, that’s OK with me. Let me share some thoughts with you, let me share from my perspective of how Republicans feel,’” Curtis said.

From our friends at Citizens Climate Lobby comes this opportunity to meet with your lawmakers in Washington, DC. With the Republican majority, right-leaning climate advocates are uniquely positioned to deliver this critical message. Step up and make your voice heard.

This CCL conference is open to politically right-leaning attendees. They are asking those interested in completing a short set of screening questions by February 18, 2025. Within one week of submitting your application you will hear back from CCL staff via email, phone, and/or text. Upon acceptance, you will receive a link to register for the conference, which closes  February 20, 2025.
