This week in climate change news, Florida GOP Rep. Carlos Curbelo, cochair of the bipartisan House Climate Solutions Caucus, hosted an event this week on the global security threats posed by climate change. The event featured a presentation by Retired British Admiral Neil Morisetti, who served as the U.K. foreign secretary’s special representative for climate change.
“Learning the methods other countries implement to handle climate change makes us more effective leaders,” Curbelo noted. “I look forward to discussing [Morisetti’s] views with my colleagues.”
Mike Castaldo, a Republican candidate seeking a seat in the New Hampshire State House, seeks “realistic solutions” to climate change “that support a free market and protect our natural resources.” In an opinion essay, Castaldo points to economic gains the state could make with the increased need for more advanced skilled labor in the clean energy sector and New Hampshire’s legacy of people working together to “[ensure] that we leave our piece of the world a little better off for the next generation.”
