The climate jester of the week is President Donald Trump for statements he made last weekend about the Paris climate agreement.

Trump, who referred to the global agreement as “the one-sided Paris climate accord where the United States pays billions of dollars while China, Russia and India have contributed and will contribute nothing, ” told supporters “It is estimated that full compliance with the agreement could ultimately shrink America’s GDP by 2.5 trillion dollars over a ten-year period. That means factories and plants closing all over our country.”

While for weeks rumors have persisted that a decision on Paris is imminent, Trump, who indicated he’d like to renegotiate the deal signed by nearly every nation and already formally approved by 65 percent of signers, does not sound like he’s undecided.

“Not with me, folks,” he said.
