This week in climate change, NASA and NOAA announced 2015 was the world’s hottest year on record just as Texas Sen. Ted Cruz blasted climate change science in a discussion with New Hampshire voters, saying the signs “don’t back up it’s warming.”

“Has anyone noticed in the past couple of years, the theory has magically changed?” Cruz asked. “Now none of the alarmists say global warming anymore. Now it’s climate change.”

“Look, if you are a big government politician,” Cruz added. “Climate change is the perfect pseudo-scientific theory because it can never ever ever be disproven. If it gets hotter or older, wetter or dryer, the climate has always changed since the beginning of time and it will continue to change until the end of time.”

Meanwhile, GOP frontrunner Donald Trump insisted he was joking when he tweeted that climate change was a “hoax invented by the Chinese.”

“I think that climate change is just a very, very expensive form of tax,” Trump said. “A lot of people are making a lot of money. I know much about climate change. I’ve received many environmental awards. And I often joke that this is done for the benefit of China — obviously I joke.”

Trump first tweeted in 2012 that “the concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make US manufacturing non-competitive.”
