South Carolina Congressman Mark Sanford joined as a co-sponsor of the so-called Gibson Resolution, which expresses support for House action on climate change. He is the 14th Republican to support the measure.
“The hardest step of life is the first step,” Sanford said back in the spring about climate leadership. He stressed the importance of “recognizing that conservatism should apply to not just financial resources. It should apply to natural resources as well.”
