Florida Sen. Marco Rubio addressed potential voters at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire, where he was asked if he would support a tax on carbon as a mechanism to combat climate change.

“No,” Rubio said.

“The proposals they keep presenting me with will do nothing” to address climate change, he added. “By the admission of the advocates, they would do nothing to change our environment. You can ask them, how many feet of sea rise will this prevent if we pass this bill, and their answer is, it won’t prevent anything.”

Rubio has previous said he supports the “American innovator” when it comes to clean energy solutions.
