New Hampshire GOP Sen. Kelly Ayotte, facing a competitive re-election race against Gov. Maggie Hassan, said if re-elected she would “build on” efforts taken by the Senate energy and environment working group she helped establish with fellow senators Mark Kirk (R-IL), Lamar Alexander (R-TN) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC). Ayotte supports efforts to address climate change and to eliminate all energy subsidies in order to make “the tax code even-handed.”

“I would like to be in a position to drive more bipartisan discussion around how we protect our environment,” Ayotte said.

Recent polls indicate the race is a statistical tie.
